Dr. Denish is a veterinarian with expertise in exotic and zoo animal medicine. Currently, Dr. Denish owns The Rhawnhurst Animal Hospital and the Elkins Park Veterinary Hospital and Boarding Kennel. His clientele is 25% exotic animals which includes snakes, lizards, turtles, rodents, rabbits, birds, ferrets and even the occasional monkey. In addition to his veterinary practices, he has served as the Director of Veterinary Medicine for the Elmwood Park Zoo for the past 12 years. He also is the appointed veterinarian for the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committees at both Elmwood Park Zoo and Arcadia University. In the past, he has been the on-call veterinarian for the visiting Ringling Brothers Circus and for 16 years as the vet for the Philadelphia Police Canine Department. His lecture will focus on his zoo work.
